| - The nose is a highly moist and vascular tissue. Nosebleeds can occur spontaneously, or as the result of infections, dry air, allergies, High Blood Pressure, drug abuse (e.g., snorting cocaine), medications (e.g., anticoagulants like aspirin, nasal steroids), inherited blood disorders (e.g.Hemophilia), and trauma.
- In the event of a nosebleed, keep the head elevated, apply pressure to the soft part of the nose for about 5 minutes, and apply ice or cold pack, if available.
- Notify your doctor and seek immediate medical attention if bleeding is profuse or does not stop.
