This occurs when an Abscess of the meibomian gland of the eyelid (i.e., an internal Hordeolum Abscess) is followed by granulomatous (a type of inflammatory reaction) inflammation.
Hard, nontender swelling of the upper or lower eyelid
The white of the eye is red and elevated
Vision may be impaired if the Chalazion presses against the cornea of the eye
