Bulimia Nervosa

Bulimia is characterized by episodes of binge eating.  In order to prevent weight gain, the individual induces vomiting, takes laxatives, diuretics (water pills), temporarily starves, or vigorously exercises.  Depression is often associated with this disorder.  By some estimates, 19% of college age women have bulimia.

Anorexia Nervosa Depression

Laboratory findings may show Electrolyte abnormalities (chemical imbalances, such as low levels of Magnesium and Potassium) There may be evidence of Dehydration Increased pancreatic enzymes May be all normal
