First Lady Michelle Obama harvests with some fifth grade students in the White House Kitchen Garden on the White House’s South Lawn on Tuesday (June 16) in Washington, D.C.
The 45-year-old First Lady later sat down to a meal with the children from Bancroft Elementary School with the lettuce and snap peas harvested from the garden to focus attention on health and nutrition.
“The planting of this garden was one of the first things I wanted to do as first lady at the White House,” she told the students. “You helped make this dream a reality
