An Australian banker is facing an uncertain future after he was caught looking at racy photographs at his desk - during a live television broadcast. The Macquarie Private Wealth employee, named by the Sydney Morning Herald as David Kiely, was looking at GQ images of Australian model Miranda Kerr. He was unaware a colleague was doing a live television interview about the Australian economy nearby.
Australia's Seven Network broadcast the item with the photos clearly showing on a computer screen in the background. At one stage, Mr Kiely turns and looks directly at the television camera, then realises he has been caught in shot. His desk was empty during similar television interviews today.
The incident has become a huge hit on the internet, with over 200,000 views and a 5-star rating on YouTube. Macquarie Bank, known locally as the "millionaire's factory', said it was taking the matter seriously. "Macquarie has strict policies in place surrounding the use of technology and the issue arising from today's live cross on Seven News is being dealt with internally," the bank said in a statement.
